Thursday, 7 July, Evening, starting from 8PM
The Gala party is the joint Gala party of this Arts & Science Conference and
the Foundation of Information Science conference that is just finishing on Thursday night.
The joint
Gala party will be held in the Royal lounge of the
Hotel des Invalides, a famous XVII century monument in the center of Paris,
The Hotel des Invalides is hosting the Museum of the Armies and Napoleon's tomb.
It is not too far from ENSTA.
You will be able to enjoy a truely
french touch of hospitality in the reception hall of the Sun King.
In such a classy setting, the dress code is going to be rather smart and elegant, but
it does not imply necessarily that men must wear dull "business" costumes, and
women uninspiring black gowns, "artistic" and "alternative"
dresses are most welcome.
Brought to you by the WSIS-ARTS
working group,
the Gala party is going to be enlivened by the songs
of the alternative artist
Carole Masseport.
Her show gathers a very grasping blend of natural vocal combined
with untraditional lyrics and music ( see her
performance at SIANA ).
A participation fee ( 45 euros, 40 euros if
registered
and paid online
by the deadline, see
payment instructions )
is charged to the participants of
the Arts & Science Event. For attendees of the FIS2005
the participation fee is already included in the FIS2005 registration fee.
Payment must be made in advance, please
contact us,
since guests must
be included beforehand in a list. Identities are checked by military guards at the entrance,
it is strictly impossible for people not on the guest list to enter.
You may go with a cab.
Every taxi driver in Paris knows where the Invalides are !.
By the subway "Metro", the way from the ENSTA
is short and simple.
Take the "Metro" at terminal station "Balard"
on line 8.
No risk to take the wrong direction, only one direction available !
Then you leave the subway not at station "Invalides" but at station
"La Tour-Maubourg" (7thstation)
which is nearer from the gate.
When going out of the subway, you cannot miss the "Invalides" !.
Once at the gate of the "Hotel Royal des Invalides" :
