Within the broad framework of the Reform of the United Nations by Secretary-General Kofi Annan, a Panel of Eminent Persons has recently issued a report on the interaction between civil society and the United Nations (21 June 2004).

Our UNMSP proposal has been revised in order to take into account the Cardoso report. There is definitively an agreement with the analysis of the current situation concerning the relationship between the UN and the Civil Society. We have highlighted and selected points of the rather thick Cardoso report that are most interesting in relationship to the UNMSP proposal. Our recommendations are different, since our focus and goals are not the same.
