FOUNDATION SOPHIA ANTIPOLIS
The French Sophia Antipolis Foundation was created in 1984 by Senator Pierre Laffitte, and received state-approval for playing a fundamental
role in the development of scientific and cultural activities. The purpose of the Foundation is to encourage the exchange of ideas and cooperation
in scientific, industrial and cultural matters at a national, European and international level in order to create a new entrepreneurial culture, thereby turning Sophia
Antipolis into an experimental laboratory for the future. Sophia Antipolis is a Science Park taking pride in being internationally recognized as one of the most
dynamic and fastest growing technological and scientific hubs in Europe and a "best practice" site for innovation.
CITY OF VENICE
Venice is an extraordinary city, a unique place in the world, but it is also a usual place where people live, work and study. Venice is one of the most
visited cities in the world. In Venice, every day, the Mayor and the Councillor can both meet "ambassadors" from all over the world, to discuss important
matters in the field of art, culture, finance, science and politics, and meet their own citizens: Information and Communication Technology must be at the
service of this peculiar city.
According to the Mayor Massimo Cacciari policies, ICT projects in Venice are therefore oriented to the creation of communication infrastructures and services for
people living, working or studying in the city (i.e. local e-government, portals of the various services, the broadband network for the local government,...) and for the
nearly 20 million tourists visiting Venice every year (i.e. the "Value Added Services" - the new network of services supporting transport, the access to artistic and
cultural resources, global information and communication, mobility...).

The ULSS of Asolo takes part to international actions on digital developments.
The MEDICI Framework (Multimedia for EDucation and employment through Integrated Cultural Initiatives) is a framework of co-operation established
by the European Commission (1997).The goal of MEDICI is to promote the use of advanced technologies for access to, understanding, preservation
and economic promotion of cultural heritage and culture in a broad sense..Activities and active members are spreaded world-wide Main action lines

The World Summit Award (WSA) is a global initiative to select and promote the world's best e-Content, started in 2003 in the
framework of the United Nations' World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS). This is done through national contests, a global
contest, held every 2 years, and numerous content-focused national and international conferences and workshops the WSA Road
Show. WSA is an invitation project and a global hub for everyone, who sees the crucial importance of excellent e-Content creation
within the new Information Society. As of today, 168 countries are actively involved in WSA. New partners from all over the world are always welcome to
